Our business is dedicated to transforming the Sekhukhune district, a rural community facing significant challenges such as high unemployment and inadequate infrastructure. With a population exceeding 1.2 million people across 740 villages within five municipalities, our mission is to provide sustainable and affordable construction solutions that empower local residents. In contrast to urban areas where government housing is readily available, many rural households are compelled to construct their own homes, often starting from modest beginnings and aspiring to build their dream residences. The lack of centralized municipal sewer systems places the onus on individual households to establish their own systems. Similarly, access to water often requires households to drill boreholes, necessitating additional investments in pumping and purification systems. At Sekhukhune Construction Specialists, we are committed to bridging this gap by offering viable, affordable solutions to address these pressing challenges. We also provide tailored construction and maintenance services to the business community, allowing our clients to focus on their core operations while we handle their construction needs.
Founded in 2021 by Tumelo Maredi, a self-taught and highly skilled construction professional, Sekhukhune Construction Specialists (Pty) Ltd has rapidly evolved from its humble beginnings. Tumelo began his career as a plumbing assistant in the Sekhukhune district over a decade ago before establishing his own business. In 2024, Kgwale Mokgwatsana joined the company as a director responsible for business development and administration, bringing over 20 years of corporate experience in finance, risk management, procurement, and general business operations. As a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor, our company is deeply rooted in the Sekhukhune area, actively participating in rural infrastructure development primarily for private clients. Since our inception, we have expanded our service offerings from plumbing to a comprehensive range of construction and maintenance services. Our commitment extends beyond construction; we aim to combat unemployment in the district by creating meaningful job opportunities for the youth and providing essential skills training.
